It is about perception. What is it about Savannah that allows us to perceive so many ghosts?
In my thirty some odd years of chasing after ghosts I have come up with a few theories as to the nature of ghosts and supernatural events. I will share one of these theories now. I usually use a radio for this analogy. I think that the human mind is like a radio. The reality that we experience is a station on that mental radio. As children we have the ability to go up and down that dial. Experiencing wild fluctuations in the realities we perceive. But we are all taught what station we must adhere to in order to function in society. So, let's say that 105.3 is the station of choice for our combined reality. Some people have never lost their childlike ability to move around the dial. Some people have traumatic events that knock them off station. So they may be at 105.4 or 105.2. This allows them to perceive everything everyone else perceives, but a little something from the other stations. Mind you, if you go too far on the dial like to 107.9, you will not be able to relate to anyone on 105.3 and you will probably be considered stark, raving mad.
So, how does this apply to Savannah? Well, Savannah transmits a powerful wave that disrupts our radios. Like driving on a long trip, when your station starts fading as another one becomes audible. Savannah allows it's inhabitants and visitors to perceive more of the bandwidth. It is not that we are more haunted, it is that the hauntings are more easily perceived. Next time I will discuss my theories on what makes Savannah such a potent transmitter.

I should probably also add that some people have very well made radios with very powerful receivers and they will not be knocked off of the reality station. These people cannot see or perceive beyond that set station. And some people have loose knobs and can pretty much go willy nilly all over the place. I say this because there are many people who can claim with all sincerity and candor that they have never had a single supernatural experience, and at the same time there are many people who say that their lives are a never ending supernatural experience. I cannot discount either of these groups of people.
